Grievance: Free Grievance Procedure

Sooner or later, you will find that an employee raises a grievance about his or her work. This may be something basic, such as a question about pay or time off. However it may also be something more fundamental, such as a grievance about bullying or harassment at work.

If you get it wrong then you might find yourself having to defend a claim of constructive dismissal or unlawful discrimination. It is essential to carry out a fair grievance procedure to respond to any formal grievances, which will include;

  • Carrying out an appropriate level of investigation
  • Holding a grievance meeting on notice
  • Giving the employee the right to appeal the decision if they are unhappy with it.
